Five ways to make your groom stand out
1) A custom-tailored suit
Your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event. As a bride, you’ve more than likely thought about your wedding and how you envision yourself looking. What style bride you’ll be, the type of dress you’ll be in, how you want to feel, etc. Chances are your groom has not. Chances are he will be perfectly fine renting a tux that he tries on once for 20 minutes a couple months before the wedding. And while this is a totally legitimate option, if you are wanting your soon-to-be husband to really stand out, a custom suit is the way to go! The fit of his suit will have him standing taller, and ready to approach the day with confidence. A well-fitting suit will also photograph beautifully and be a staple in your husband’s wardrobe for years to come.
2) Thought through “getting ready” photos with his boys
When having your photography consultation, consider your fiancés interests while planning the “getting ready” photos. Is he into sports? Have him and the groomsmen do a “Game Day arrival” shoot. Does he love gaming? Set up a fun area and have the group play while in their suits. Is whiskey his thing? Set the crew up at a stylish bar with custom cocktail glasses. Whatever is his “thing”, structure the photos around that. Not only will he be more involved, but this will also allow his personality to shine through and make for amazing photos!
3) An outfit change
We love to see a groom’s outfit change! If you are planning your own second outfit, consider having your fiancé make the change as well! You’ll surprise guests and can change the tone of the reception when you both make your grand entrance.
4) Have him give a Thank You speech
Nothing puts a spotlight on you more, than standing in front of your guests and giving a speech. Give your husband the floor to make a joint Thank You speech on y’all’s behalf. This will be the first time he addresses the group and husband and wife, making it extra special!
5) Give him a grand entrance
Traditionally, the groom enters the ceremony space with the officiant and his groomsmen. It’s typically more understated and doesn’t make much of a statement. If you are looking for your man to make a bigger impact, consider him coming in on his own, after his groomsmen are down there. Give him his own song, have the officiant make an announcement, have him bring the energy by shaking guest’s hands and hyping the group up. This is his time to shine as well!! Whatever his personality is, lean into that! We love to see our couples give equal attention to each other while considering their entrances!
